Ira Wells Wood
U.S. Congressman & Peace Delegate
A brilliant Princeton graduate, Ira Wells Wood served at almost every level of government, from the Board of Education to the U.S. Congress. During his time in Washington (1904–1913), he successfully secured the federal funding required to build the Princeton Battle Monument. He also represented the United States as a delegate to the International Parliamentary Peace Union in Belgium.
