John O. Raum
Historian & Trenton City Official
A native of Mill Hill, John O. Raum was the definitive chronicler of Trenton’s early history. In 1854, he co-published the city’s first directory. Beyond his literary contributions, including "History of the City of Trenton" (1871), he served as City Clerk and City Treasurer. During the Civil War, he used his expertise as a bookkeeper for the Quartermaster General's office. He was a dedicated member of Trenton Lodge No. 5, where he also served as the lodge's historian.
